I spend as much time in the ocean as possible, dabbling in pretty much every water sport there is. But, a man’s gotta eat, so I’m a mechanical engineer for a living. I’ve worked building boats for the leisure industry, and in the design and testing of novel concepts for marine renewables. Right now, I’m working in the design of submarines and autonomous surface vessels.
I have a couple of degrees from the University of Plymouth; BEng Marine Technology (in essence mechanical engineering and naval architecture, all wrapped up into one), and MSc Advanced Engineering Design.
